El Semanal de Madrid does not place cookies on your device, neither our own nor third party ones. We use no advertising tags, tracking pixels or third party analytics such as Google Analytics.

That is why you will not see a cookie banner: there is nothing to accept, reject or configure.

How we count visits

To know which content interests readers we measure visits with our own anonymous system, which stores no identifier on your device. For each visit we record the page viewed, the site you came from and the type of browser.

Your IP address is not stored: it is turned into an encrypted code that changes every day, so your browsing cannot be followed from one day to the next or linked to you. This measurement is not shared with third parties or used for advertising.

Technical local storage

If you switch between light and dark reading modes, we save that preference in your browser's local storage so we can respect it next time. It is not a cookie, it never reaches our servers and it cannot identify you: it is a technical setting you requested yourself by pressing the button, and is therefore exempt from consent. You can clear it at any time by deleting this site's browsing data.

Embedded content

As we load no third party scripts, external content quoted in an article (a social media post, for example) is shown as a quote with a link, without loading the original player and without that third party receiving any data about you.

If we ever add cookies or third party tools, we will show a consent notice and update this page before activating them.
