Privacy policy

Data controller

The controller of personal data is El Semanal de Madrid (semanaldemadrid.es). For any privacy matter, write to legal@semanaldemadrid.es.

Data we collect

We only process the data you give us voluntarily through our forms or by email: usually your name, your email address and the content of your message.

We also measure visits with our own anonymous system that uses no cookies and stores no identifier on your device: it records the page viewed, the referring site and the browser type, and your IP address is never stored, only turned into an encrypted code that changes daily. As it cannot identify you or track you across days, it does not constitute processing of personal data.

Purpose and legal basis

Form and email data are processed to answer your enquiry, based on your consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR). Subscription data is used to send you the content you asked for, also with your consent and with the option to unsubscribe at any time. Anonymous audience measurement relies on our legitimate interest in knowing which content is of interest (art. 6.1.f GDPR).

Retention

We keep messages while we handle your enquiry and afterwards for as long as needed to address possible legal liabilities. Subscription data is kept until you unsubscribe.

Recipients and processors

We do not sell or share your data with third parties, nor use it for advertising. Only the providers needed to run the service access it as processors under an article 28 GDPR agreement: site hosting, email service and, where applicable, the newsletter platform.

International transfers

Our providers process data within the European Economic Area. Should a provider outside the EEA ever be required, it will be done with the safeguards set out in chapter V of the GDPR, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures: HTTPS encryption, restricted access to information and encrypted backups.

Minors

Our forms are not aimed at children under 14. If we find we have received a minor's data without guardian consent, we delete it.

Automated decisions

We do not profile you or make automated decisions affecting you.

Your rights

You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to legal@semanaldemadrid.es. We reply within one month. You may also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will publish the new version on this page.
