Clown Edu Manazas inaugurates the municipal cycle of family shows on October 4 at La Casa+Grande tent, with six performances spread across the three districts of Rivas-Vaciamadrid.
The municipal autumn family show cycle in Rivas-Vaciamadrid kicks off on Sunday, October 4 at 18:00 with 'Meraki', the circus performance by clown Edu Manazas. The show takes place in the circus tent of La Casa+Grande and tickets cost 3 euros for under 18s and 6 euros for adults, with a 25% discount for unemployed individuals and a 30% discount for pensioners, holders of the youth card or the cultural youth voucher. Tickets can be purchased at entradas.rivasciudad.es.
The Council of Culture and Festivals repeats the format of previous years: six circus, dance, and theatre proposals spread across the West, Centre, and East districts, with performances at sala Covibar, auditorio Pilar Bardem, and the tent of La Casa+Grande. The programme maintains accessible seating, managed in the same way as in previous editions.
Manazas himself describes the show as follows:
We try to control what happens around us. And in that impossibility, we forget to savour the unpredictability of life. ‘Meraki’ speaks to us about putting our essence into what we do to leave our own mark and for that mark to remain in our lives. A proposal that captivates from the start with Edu's refined technique and research in juggling, mixed with technology.
After the premiere, the cycle continues on Sunday, October 18 at 20:00 with 'Where is Alicia?', by the company Marea Danza, at the auditorio Pilar Bardem. It features Spanish, flamenco, and contemporary dance for audiences aged 6 and above, as part of the Danza Escena programme.
On Sunday, October 25 at 18:00, 'Tá', by Escena Miriñaque, arrives at sala Covibar: dance-theatre for children from 2 years old. On Sunday, November 8 at 18:00, the tent of La Casa+Grande hosts 'Voa¡', by Gata Japonesa, circus for all audiences.
The final stretch of the cycle includes two puppet performances. On Sunday, November 15 at 18:00, the auditorio Pilar Bardem programmes 'The Toothless Witch', by Ia Katúa & Galea Teatro, for ages 4 and up, as part of the Platea programme (INAEM-FEMP). And on Friday, November 22 at 18:00, sala Covibar closes with 'The Warrior Maid', by the company Tropos, puppet theatre for ages 6 and up.
