The interior rehabilitation works of the Ermita de la Soledad in Pezuela de las Torres are ongoing, but two significant cracks have emerged above the door lintel that will require wall reinforcement. The Town Hall maintains the expectation of recovering lost time throughout the project.
The rehabilitation works of the interior of the Ermita de la Soledad in Pezuela de las Torres continue as planned, according to the Town Hall. To reach the higher areas of the walls, an internal scaffold has been installed around the entire perimeter of the building.
During the works, two significant cracks have appeared above the door lintel. These cracks extend through the three sections of the existing wall and, according to the council, seem to be the source of the exterior crack that was already visible before the exterior rehabilitation carried out by the Diocese, an action in which the crack was repaired only from the outside.
The Town Hall points out that the previous repair of the facade may be related to this construction problem. The cracks have caused the displacement of the stone lintel and the loss of consistency of the wall above the door.
To properly repair this area, it will be necessary to construct two reinforcement porticos, one above and another over the door, in addition to completely rebuilding the deteriorated part of the wall. This action will result in a delay in the planned works for the rest of the walls, although it is hoped that this time can be recovered during the development of the project.
The Town Hall of Pezuela de las Torres continues its work in the rehabilitation and conservation of the Ermita de la Soledad with the aim of recovering and preserving this element of the municipality's heritage.
