Sunday's events at the Alcalá de Henares Fairs and Festivals combined charitable acts with parades and music. Mayor Judith Piquet joined the groups at several charitable events.
The Alcalá de Henares Fairs and Festivals experienced a day marked by solidarity and a festive atmosphere. The mayor, Judith Piquet, along with councillors Antonio Saldaña, Antonio Peñalver, Pilar Cruz, and Víctor Cobo, participated in the charity vermouth organised by the festive groups for the benefit of Aphisa.
The morning kicked off with the parade of the Giants' Troupe, one of the traditional events that brings families together in the city centre. Additionally, the 7th edition of the Doblón Classic 2026 was held, an activity benefiting the Blas Méndez Ponce Foundation, and the MotoAlmuerzo organised by the group Los Presidiarios.
The festivities also reached the neighbourhoods: El Olivar hosted a bouncy castle park for the little ones. In the afternoon, solidarity continued with initiatives such as the Sandwich for Everyone by the group Los Vikingos, benefiting ASTEA Henares, and the Euro Race, organised by Peña El Woky and the Hermandad del Carmen in support of the Holland Association. The mayor was also present at this last event alongside other members of the Corporation.
The cultural offerings included the Alcalá Comedy Show at the Teatro Salón Cervantes, as part of the Theatre in Fairs programme. In the Plaza de la Paloma, there was a gathering of Latin rhythms with Esperanza and Rodrigo, while the parade of the Pequeñantes enlivened the streets and the orchestra Cougar provided music in the Plaza de Cervantes.
The day reflects the participatory nature of a festival that combines leisure, culture, and collaboration with local associations. Those who visit in the coming days can still enjoy activities for all audiences at various locations throughout the city.
