The neighbourhoods of Pablo Iglesias and La Luna celebrate their charitable and popular festivals on the first weekends of September, featuring music, markets, and activities for the whole family.

The community festivals return to Rivas-Vaciamadrid to brighten up the return to routine. The neighbourhoods of Pablo Iglesias and La Luna organise their traditional September events, with a self-managed programme that includes concerts, markets, sports, and children's activities.

The charitable festivals of La Pablo will take place on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 September in the plaza de Copima. The proceeds from the solidarity bar will be allocated to cooperation projects, such as a circus programme for women and children in Palestine or the Rainbow Project in the Sahrawi refugee camps in Tinduf. The organisation is managed by the associations Rivas Sahel and Guanaminos sin Fronteras, along with Radio Cigüeña, Asamblea 8M Rivas, Plataforma por la Sanidad Pública, and Pallasos en Rebeldía, with the collaboration of the Pablo Iglesias Community and the Rivas City Council.

The programme for La Pablo kicks off on Friday with a welcome and music from ‘El Pregonerooo’ at 19:00, followed by concerts from YesToAll, Punto y Aparte, Infinity Road, Jarana de Bache, and Panic Kids. On Saturday, there will be a ‘Most Beautiful Street’ contest, a workshop by Radio Cigüeña, a craft market, an electronic aperitif, popular ‘dressed’ food, and children's games. In the afternoon, the clown show ‘Mais saborrrrr’ by the Culturactiva company, and in the evening, performances by the batucada school Bembé do Sol, Enaid, Ek!s, and Reunión de Pastores.

Meanwhile, the La Luna festivals will take place from Thursday 10 to Saturday 12 September in four locations: calle de Lolo Rico, the sports courts of the boulevard, parque del 8M, and the new parque de Renatura, next to CEIPSO La Luna. Under the slogan ‘+Luna+Barrio+Fiestas’, the organisation aims to integrate more spaces and residents.

We want to reach further, integrate more spaces, and involve more neighbours. Because there are still those who do not know they are part of this great neighbourhood, and we believe that the festivals are the best opportunity to meet, get to know each other, and celebrate all that we share,” the organisers state.

The programme for La Luna includes an open mic on Thursday in the parque del 8M; on Friday, children's activities with Kids&Us, batucada by Bembé do Sol, and concerts by Solaris and Riverway on calle de Lolo Rico. On Saturday, there will be a dance exhibition with Runfaster, rugby games with the Club Atlético Rivas – Rugby, a basketball contest with Uros de Rivas, a musical bingo for the Alba association, a popular paella, and water games. From 20:00 to 02:00, calle de Lolo Rico will host medal presentations, face painting, a popular bike ride, a solidarity raffle for Plataforma 0-3, and concerts.

The Neighbourhood Association of La Luna reminds that the festivals are the most visible moment of their annual work, which includes self-defence workshops for young people and women. The updated programme can be checked on the Instagram account @aavvlaluna.
