The Móstoles City Council continues with its intensive cleaning plan, street by street, which will reach over 200 streets. The mayor and the councillor for the Environment have supervised the work on Felipe II street.
The Móstoles City Council is moving forward with the intensive cleaning plan that is being carried out street by street and which includes actions in over 200 streets of the municipality. The mayor, Manuel Bautista, accompanied by the first deputy mayor and councillor for Security, Emergencies and the Environment, Gabriel Monteserín, visited Felipe II street and its surroundings on Wednesday to check the results of the work on the ground.
The work in this area has included manual and mechanical sweeping of the pavement, cleaning of containers and urban furniture such as benches and litter bins, as well as washing of sidewalks and roadways with mixed washing, hydro-pressure, and street washing equipment. Actions have also been taken on façades, with cleaning and repainting, and graffiti has been removed.
The City Council reminds that Móstoles has removed over 53,000 graffiti since 2024, a task that was recognised on June 10 with the Platinum Broom Award 2026. In this same vein, workers have carried out clearing and gardening tasks, including tree raising, an urban pruning technique that removes the lower branches of the crown to clear the path for pedestrians and improve visibility on the sidewalks.
The plan, which was launched last June, has already acted in neighbourhoods such as Los Rosales, Estoril I, the area around the Móstoles University Hospital, and El Soto, as well as in streets like Azorín, Hermanos Pinzón, Avenida de la ONU, Felipe II, Simón Hernández, Empecinado, Burdeos, Montecarlo, La Paz, Guadalajara, Cuenca, Esparta, Toledo, and Madrid. Upcoming actions will reach Parque Coimbra, Urbanización Guadarrama, Pinares Llanos, Siete Picos, Veracruz, Sao Paulo, Río de Janeiro, Avenida Carlos V, Estoril II, and the streets of painters, among other areas.
With this plan, the City Council aims to improve the state of the city and the lives of the residents of Móstoles, prioritising cleanliness in public spaces. Residents of the pending areas can expect the arrival of this work in the coming weeks, as the plan will be executed progressively until all the more than 200 planned streets are covered.
