The Bhima Sangha Municipal Resource Centre for Children is celebrating its 20th anniversary with an open day, workshops, performances, and a popular paella feast on Saturday, October 3rd. Entry is free and activities will take place between 11:00 and 17:00.
The Bhima Sangha Municipal Resource Centre for Children in Rivas-Vaciamadrid is turning 20 years old. To celebrate, the Town Hall has organised a party on Saturday, October 3rd, from 11:00 to 17:00, on Armando Rodríguez Avenue (no number), with free entry.
The day is structured into three thematic blocks. From 11:00 to 14:00, the focus will be on the right to participation, having a voice, and free culture, featuring a sports scavenger hunt, creative workshop tents, a commemorative exhibition, a baby show at 11:00, open doors at the playrooms, an institutional event with the Convivencia Primaria choir at 12:30, and inflatable games for children aged 1 to 12.
From 14:00 to 15:00, the focus will shift to the right to health, well-being, and shared rest, with a popular paella feast, family workshops and games, a nap zone, and a collaborative mural.
The final segment, from 15:00 to 17:00, will centre on the right to play, family, and free expression. It includes a family rock concert by David Haze at 15:00, a time capsule, and the cutting of the cake to blow out the candles for another 20 years.
Throughout the day, there will be food trucks offering culinary delights and music, a calm space focusing on disability, and face painting open to all ages.
The centre explained the purpose of the event in a statement:
It was born from the voice of our childhood, and this is what drives us to create safe and respectful spaces. On this 20th anniversary, the centre reaffirms its commitment to remain a lively, open, and inclusive place, where the voice and enthusiasm of childhood continue to be the main driving force.
The event, under the slogan 20 years of Bhima Sangha: the heart of children's rights, will take place on Saturday, October 3rd, with free access until capacity is reached for activities that require it.
