The Municipal Library Lope de Vega in Tres Cantos returns this Monday, 17 August, to its regular hours, open from Monday to Saturday. The summer loan period ends tomorrow.
The Municipal Library Lope de Vega in Tres Cantos will resume its regular hours this Monday, 17 August, ending the special summer period. Library services, loans, and returns will be available from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 to 21:00, and on Saturdays from 9:00 to 14:00.
The Study Room, for its part, will extend its opening hours from Monday to Sunday, between 9:00 and 21:00, as reported by the Town Hall. With this measure, residents regain access to the library throughout the day, a space that the acting mayor, Elisa Lidia Miguel, has described as "fundamental for reading, studying, and access to culture for people of all ages."
The summer loan period ends this Saturday. The Town Hall reminds that tomorrow, 15 August, concludes the special period that allowed the loan return period to be extended from 30 to 45 days. Users who have enjoyed their readings during the holidays must return the items within the usual timeframes starting next week.
Meanwhile, the Caja Madrid Foundation Library will remain closed until 30 August, in accordance with the special planning of the Municipal Library Network of Tres Cantos.
Despite the end of the special hours, the reading promotion initiatives launched during the summer will continue. Summer Books, aimed at Secondary and Baccalaureate students, features novels, comics, and graphic narratives classified by age (from 12, 14, and 16 years) and genres such as adventure, fantasy, mystery, science fiction, or historical novels. For younger children, aged 3 to 12, Ola de Libros offers a selection of titles adapted to each reading stage, with links to the catalogue to check the availability of items.
The Library Network also continues to publish literary recommendations for adults, teenagers, and children on its website, including books, comics, digital content, reading guides, and media library materials. All information is available at bibliotecaspublicas.es/trescantos.
