From August 16 to 21, Mangirón hosts the Sports Week of Puentes Viejas with tournaments, popular games, and activities for all ages.
The town of Mangirón, in the municipality of Puentes Viejas, will once again be the epicentre of summer sports with the celebration of its 2026 Sports Week, which will take place from August 16 to 21. This event, one of the most anticipated of the summer, will bring together locals and visitors for six days of competitions and activities for all ages.
The programme will combine sports events, popular games, and established activities that will enliven the swimming pool, sports centre, park, and other spaces in the municipality. The organisation aims to promote camaraderie and a good atmosphere, with options for both the youngest and adults.
The week will kick off on Sunday, August 16 with the opening ceremony and the calva launch, one of the most deeply rooted traditions. Throughout the week, the Paddle Tournament will be held, with the final scheduled for Friday, August 21, the last day of the programme.
Registrations for each event must be formalised by the day before at the Chiringuito, as reported by the Puentes Viejas Town Hall. Late registrations will not be accepted, so interested parties must pay attention to the schedule of each activity to avoid missing out on participation.
The Town Hall encourages everyone to consult the complete programme and choose the activities they wish to participate in, reminding that the registration deadline is an essential requirement for competition. With this initiative, the municipality strengthens its summer leisure offerings and promotes healthy habits among its residents.
