Cerceda's Plaza Mayor will host a live demonstration on the traditional preparation and equipping of the picador horse on Sunday, September 13th at 1:00 PM, led by picador Juan José Leiro. Entry is free and open to all.
The Plaza Mayor of Cerceda will be the venue for the live exhibition “The Art of Dressing the Picador Horse” on Sunday, September 13th, 2026, featuring a handcrafted demonstration by picador Juan José Leiro. The event will kick off at 1:00 PM and entry will be free.
During the session, Leiro will explain step by step the traditional process of preparing, caring for, and equipping the picador horse, detailing the equestrian attire and equipment used in this profession.
The demonstration includes an educational component about the technical work and mastery required for this task, as well as respect for animal welfare. The event also aims to bring the public closer to the heritage and culture of the horse world.
The activity will take place in an open space in the municipality, with no prior registration or entry fee required.
