The Town Hall of Olmeda de las Fuentes is organising the workshop 'Youth in Action' with 9 sessions on Saturdays, 35 hours and 15 places. Registrations open from 24 to 30 September 2026.
The Town Hall of Olmeda de las Fuentes has opened the call for the workshop 'Youth in Action – Short Film Workshop 2026', a free audiovisual creation activity aimed at young people aged 12 to 30 years. The initiative is funded by the Community of Madrid, through the General Directorate of Youth, as part of the grant programme for sociocultural animation projects and non-formal education.
The workshop will take place over 9 sessions on Saturdays, totalling 35 hours. Classes will be held at the Youth Centre of Olmeda de las Fuentes, located at Lavadero street s/n.
The planned schedule begins on 3 October 2026 and ends on 28 November. The first eight sessions will be from 10:00 to 14:00, while the last session on 28 November will be held from 10:00 to 13:00. The organisation warns that dates may be subject to exceptional changes for organisational reasons or force majeure, which will be communicated to participants in advance.
No prior experience in film or audiovisual work is required. Places are limited to a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 15 participants; if the minimum is not reached, the workshop will not take place.
Registrations will be open from 24 to 30 September 2026, inclusive, and will be formalised through the form provided for the workshop. Admission is not automatic: places will be allocated on a strict first-come, first-served basis, according to the date and time of submission. Applications that meet the requirements but do not secure a place will be placed on a waiting list.
Interested parties will learn the outcome on 1 October, when the list of admitted persons and the waiting list will be published. Selected individuals must confirm their place by 2 October; if they do not do so within that timeframe, the place may be offered to the next person on the waiting list.
Minors under 18 must present a signed authorisation from their mother, father, guardian or legal representative. Additionally, as part of the workshop includes recording image and voice for the short film, minor participants will also need the corresponding authorisation to be recorded.
The council reminds that the aim is for the group to actively participate in the creation of their own audiovisual piece, working together through the various phases of a film project.
The deadline for registration ends on 30 September and the workshop starts on 3 October at the Youth Centre.
