The Villanueva de Perales Town Hall has launched a preventive cleaning and maintenance plan in the parts of the municipality most at risk of water accumulation and flooding. This action responds to the recommendations of the Department of Environment, Agriculture and Interior through the Special Civil Protection Plan for Flood Risk in the Community of Madrid (INUNCAM) and to the communication sent by the Madrid 112 Security and Emergency Agency (ASEM 112).
The municipal operational services have carried out the cleaning and clearing of drains and sumps, as well as the removal of leaves, plant debris, and sediments accumulated in the public drainage network. The aim is to ensure maximum absorption and water flow capacity.
The condition of waterways and banks has also been inspected, with monitoring of flood-prone areas, streams, and water crossings in the municipality to ensure the free flow of runoff. The Town Hall maintains continuous monitoring of the points with the highest risk to act quickly in the event of water surges or emergencies.
The Town Hall appeals for citizen collaboration to keep private access points and grilles clean, and reminds the importance of following the advice of Civil Protection.
