Pozuelo del Rey celebrates its Patron Saint Festivities from 19 to 28 September 2026. The local Bullfighting Association has driven the return of the bull runs, which have not taken place for three decades.
The Patron Saint Festivities of Pozuelo del Rey will be held from 19 to 28 September 2026, ten days of religious, musical, sporting, and gastronomic activities organized by the Town Hall with the collaboration of local associations.
The return of the bull runs through the streets of the town is the main novelty of the programme. The Bullfighting Association of Pozuelo del Rey has promoted its recovery 30 years after the last time they were held, according to the Town Hall.
This year we are reviving one of the most anticipated traditions by many locals: the bull runs through the streets of Pozuelo del Rey, returning 30 years later thanks to the effort, enthusiasm, and commitment of the Bullfighting Association.
The programme includes music, shows, children's activities, cultural events, religious acts, sports, and gastronomy. The liturgical acts in honour of the patron saint, Our Lady of the Head, will be coordinated by the Association of Our Lady of the Head, which also manages the music band that will accompany the celebrations.
