The City Council of Majadahonda will hold the 'Employment +50 Day' on Wednesday, October 7, at the Municipal Library Francisco Umbral, featuring talks and round tables on the reintegration of those over 50.
The City Council of Majadahonda will celebrate on Wednesday October 7 the Employment +50 Day at the Municipal Library Francisco Umbral, located at Calle Las Norias, 39. The event, part of the Majadahonda Emprende program, will start at 10:00 AM and is aimed at people over 50 who are seeking information and job opportunities.
The first talk, 'Labour Market and Demographic Challenge: Challenges and Opportunities from the Public Sector', will be given by the General Director of Training, Mercedes Marín García, and the General Director of the Public Employment Service, Belén García.
Following this, there will be two round tables: 'Professionals +50: How to Face and Lead the Challenges of This New Professional Stage' and 'Emerging Opportunities for Silver Professionals +50', featuring professionals from entrepreneurship and human resources. The day will conclude with the talk 'Breaking the Subjective Barrier of Age', delivered by experts from Cruz Roja Majadahonda, who will present the 'Challenge +45 Plus' programme to improve the employability of long-term unemployed individuals over 45 years old.
The Councillor for Economic Development, Employment and Commerce, Ana Camins, has noted that the event responds to the reintegration difficulties faced by this group:
In a municipality that, while enjoying a situation of full technical employment, is very aware of the special difficulty that people over 45 or 50 have in reintegrating into a labour market from which they have been expelled at some point due to various circumstances.
This event comes after the one held on September 25 on 'Healthy Longevity'. The series will conclude on November 5 with a meeting on 'Silver +50 Entrepreneurship', as part of the 'Specialised Days on Silver Economy (+50)' of Majadahonda Emprende, which address labour solutions and well-being proposals for those over 50.
The event on October 7 is free to access and will take place at the Municipal Library Francisco Umbral (Calle Las Norias, 39) starting at 10:00 AM.
