The City Council of Sevilla la Nueva is carrying out comprehensive repairs to the roofs of three buildings at CEIP Duque de Rivas, with an investment of 123,560.70 euros and a timeframe of two months. The work renews the waterproofing to prevent water leaks.
The City Council of Sevilla la Nueva is executing the repair of the roofs of CEIP Duque de Rivas. The intervention affects three buildings of the centre and has a budget of 123,560.70 euros, VAT included, with a planned execution period of two months.
The work involves the removal of the current waterproofing and the installation of a new two-layer system. Additionally, the damaged surfaces of the roofs are repaired and replaced, the connections with parapets, drains, and expansion joints are adapted, and other actions are taken to improve water protection.
The buildings being worked on were constructed in the 1980s. Their roofs have undergone various maintenance works over time, including the installation of waterproofing sheets and treatments at connections and surfaces. The current project represents a more extensive intervention to renew the existing system and ensure its tightness, preventing leaks into the lower rooms.
The work is part of the Regional Investment Programme of the Community of Madrid 2022-2026, in the line dedicated to the maintenance and conservation of publicly owned schools. The regional contribution is 100,000 euros and the municipal contribution is 30,070.50 euros.
The maintenance of our schools is a priority. This action allows us to comprehensively address an important need of Duque de Rivas and continue improving the spaces where our children spend a good part of their day,” said the mayor of Sevilla la Nueva, Asensio Martínez Agraz.
The City Council thus continues with the maintenance and improvement work of public educational centres in the municipality. The repair of the roofs of CEIP Duque de Rivas will last for two months from the start of the works.
