Galapagar will celebrate its patron saint festivities from September 10 to 14 with concerts by David Bustamante, Isabel Aaiún, and Orquesta Panorama. Before that, from September 1 to 6, there will be an intense week of pre-festivities.

The municipality of Galapagar is already gearing up for its patron saint festivities in honour of the Most Holy Christ of the Mercedes, which will take place from September 10 to 14. Prior to this, from September 1 to 6, the Town Hall has organised a complete agenda of pre-festivities to get everyone in the mood.

The programme will kick off on Tuesday September 1 with the Cornhole Tournament at the municipal sports centre at 18:00 and the start of the Social Tennis Tournament. On Thursday 3, it will be the turn of the Inter-Town Petanque Championship in El Toril park (from 9:00 to 15:00) and the Paddle Tournament at the sports centre.

Saturday September 5 will concentrate most of the activities. In the morning, Avenida de los Voluntarios will host the XXII Pepe Gómez Memorial – Schools Trophy (from 7:30 to 13:30), while at El Barrizal field there will be archery tournaments (from 9:00 to 16:00) and individual petanque at El Toril (from 9:00 to 15:00). The chito, one of the most traditional games, will hold its general round at 12:00 and the children's version at 18:00.

Saturday night will be youthful: the Plaza de la Constitución will host the LOS40 Urban Party festival from 20:00 to 1:00, featuring live performances by JØL and TATE, winners of the municipality's young groups contest.

Sunday September 6 will be the highlight of the pre-festivities. At 11:30, the XXVIII Bicycle Festival will kick off, a fun and family-friendly 5-kilometre route starting from Calle de la Inclusión. Before that, at 10:00, the cadet cycling event IV GP Sergio Martín and the XXXIX Regional Chito Pairs Tournament will take place. The day will culminate with the Fiesta de Nuestros Mayores, featuring a thanksgiving mass (12:30), a bus from the Town Hall (14:00), lunch at Restaurante Trinidad (14:30), and a musical performance (15:30) for those over 70 years old.

The patron saint festivities will officially begin on Thursday September 10 with the Holi Festival of coloured powders in the parking lot of the El Chopo football field (from 18:30 to 20:30). At 20:30, the traditional Peñas Parade will arrive, featuring costumes and music until the Plaza de la Constitución. At 21:00, the Galapagueña swimmer Camino Martínez will give the opening speech from the Town Hall balcony.

Live music will be one of the main attractions. On Thursday 10, DJ Fernando Moreno will perform at 22:00 and Orquesta Panorama at 22:30 in the fairgrounds on Calle Guadarrama. On Friday 11, Isabel Aaiún will give a concert at 22:30 in the Plaza de la Constitución. On Saturday 12, David Bustamante will take the stage at 22:30.

Sunday 13 will be dedicated to the little ones: from 11:30 to 15:00, there will be workshops and inflatables in the Plaza de la Constitución, and at 18:30, Pica-Pica will perform. In the evening, there will be tributes to Extremoduro (Grupo Ágila) at 22:00 and to Marea (Grupo La Patera) at 23:30.

On Monday September 14, the fairground attractions will have a 50% discount for Children's Day during the afternoon/evening. The day will conclude with Orquesta Diamante at 21:00 and the traditional fireworks at 23:59.

The religious events in honour of the patron will complete the festive programme.
