Majadahonda celebrates its Patron Saint Festivities in honour of the Most Holy Christ of Remedies from September 11 to 20, with the proclamation by the Rayo Majadahonda Football Club, over 35,000 scarves, and new features such as the Youth Space and two children's musicals.
Majadahonda will kick off its Patron Saint Festivities 2026 in honour of the Most Holy Christ of Remedies on Friday, September 11 with the proclamation by the Rayo Majadahonda Football Club, which will be delivered from the balcony of the Town Hall. The celebrations will continue until Sunday, September 20, when the traditional fireworks display will take place at 23:00 at the Cerro de la Mina, followed by the “Pobre de mí” by the group “La Majada”.
The programme, prepared by the City Council, includes concerts, sports competitions, bullfighting festivities, parades, folk dances, and religious events. Among this year's new features is the “Youth Space”, a meeting point for young people aged 12 to 17 with music, games, and activities in the Plaza de los Jardinillos, which will open on September 11, 12, and 13 from 18:30 to 23:00.
Children will also take centre stage with two inclusive musicals in the Parque de Colón: on Wednesday, September 16 at 18:00, “Cinderella. The Musical” will be performed, and on Thursday, September 17 at the same time, “Dumbo. The Musical”. Both feature protagonists with and without disabilities and are recommended for all audiences.
The City Council will distribute up to 35,000 scarves from September 4 and during the festivities. They can be collected until September 10 at public buildings such as the Town Hall, the “Reina Sofía” Senior Centre, the “Carmen Conde” Cultural Centre, or the Príncipe de Asturias Youth Centre. From September 11, they will be distributed at sports events, markets, street parties, and concerts until supplies run out.
The mayor, Lola Moreno, has invited “all residents of Majadahonda and those visiting us to fully enjoy our festivities with joy, respect, and responsibility. Let us continue making Majadahonda an example of coexistence, participation, and hospitality.”
The concerts will take place on the stages of the Fairgrounds and the Parque de Colón, featuring orchestras such as “Panorama”, “Anaconda”, and “La Misión”, and artists like Nil Moliner, “Besmaya”, “Efecto Mariposa”, “Funambulista”, “Tributo Mecano”, and “Siempre así”. DJs Miguel Dejota and Guillermo Ventura will also perform, along with a family show by “Kids Rock Family”. On Tuesday, September 15 at 18:30, the Parque de Colón will host the concert “Generations”, bringing together young people and adults on the same stage. The Municipal Band will offer a concert on Saturday, September 12 at 19:00 in the Templete of the Plaza de la Constitución.
All concerts are free for residents of Majadahonda, who can reserve their tickets for the shows at the Fairgrounds from September 4 to 11 at giglon.com. General sales will begin on September 12.
On Saturday, September 12 at 21:30, around 400 drones will fly over the sky of Majadahonda in a show visible from the Fairgrounds and the Adolfo Suárez Park. On Wednesday, September 16, Family Day will be celebrated with attractions at 2 euros from 17:00, and that same day there will be a video game park in the Parque de Colón. On Thursday, September 17, the “Silent Hour” will be extended from 17:00 to 21:30 for people with sensory sensitivity or ASD. On Sunday, September 20, Children's Day will take place on Gran Vía from 11:30 to 14:30 and from 17:00 to 20:00.
