Plaza de España in Miraflores de la Sierra hosts the children's science fair Miraexplora on September 5, with workshops, experiments, and surprises for the little ones.
The town of Miraflores de la Sierra is bringing back its playful science event. The Plaza de España will host a new edition of Miraexplora on September 5, the children's science fair organised by the Town Hall, which this time extends its hours from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM.
Children who attend will be able to participate in a dozen activities designed to spark curiosity about nature and physics. Among the new features are goblin sharks, an amphibian scavenger hunt, experiments on magnetism, a workshop to discover the secrets of adobe, another on animal tracks, and an introduction to mushroom cultivation. There will also be space for ornithology and entomology, with activities that will bring children closer to the world of birds and insects.
In addition to the workshops, the day will include a session of scientific curiosities that promises to leave both young and old amazed. Among the examples presented, attendees will discover how a pufferfish inflates itself or what a contortionist clip is.
Participation does not require prior registration: registrations will be taken on the same day starting at 9:30 AM at the event location. Each little scientist who completes the activities will receive their card and diploma of little scientist as a memento of the day.
The fair, which has already become a summer tradition in the mountains of Madrid, aims to foster interest in science from an early age in a festive and family-friendly environment. Admission is free and the activities are designed for children to participate throughout the day.
