Redueña presents its Cristo de la Salud festivities with three weeks of activities

Redueña celebrates its festivities in honour of the Santísimo Cristo de la Salud from 28 August to 14 September with sports, culture, theatre, and workshops.

The Madrid town of Redueña will celebrate its patron festivities from 28 August to 14 September with a programme that combines sports, culture, and tradition.

The Madrid town of Redueña has presented the programme for the Fiestas in honour of the Santísimo Cristo de la Salud, which will take place from Friday 28 August to Monday 14 September. The programme kicks off with the Sports-Cultural Week, featuring championships, workshops, theatre, and activities for all ages.

The deadline to participate in the Second Photography Contest “The Funniest Photo of the Festivities” opens on Friday 28 August. The rules can be consulted at the Town Hall and in the Festival Programme, and the deadline for submitting photographs ends on Sunday 6 September.

On that same Friday, at 21:00 hours, there will be a night walk starting from the square. Participants must bring a headlamp, water, and sports footwear and clothing.

On Saturday 29 August, a padel championship will be held with registrations at the Town Hall until the day before and a fee of 5 euros per participant. The following day, Sunday 30, at 19:00 hours, the sports centre will host a beach paddle championship.

Monday 31 August will feature the petanque championship in the municipal park, organised by the Redueña Petanque Association. On Tuesday 1 September, the courtyard of La Casita will host the Ping Pong Championship, with a children's category from 17:00 to 19:00 hours and an adult category from 19:00 to 21:00 hours.

On Wednesday 2 September, the sports centre will be the venue for the Chupetines Race at 19:00 hours, aimed at the youngest with bikes, scooters, and tricycles. On Thursday 3, at the same time, the table football championship will take place at La Casita.

The cultural offerings will begin on Friday 4 September with a performance of “Fuenteovejuna” at the municipal fronton at 18:00 hours. On Saturday 5, a Ninja Warrior Circuit will be held at the Fuente de los Huertos at 11:00 hours, and at 14:00 hours there will be a Tribute to our Elders at the Multipurpose Centre, with prior confirmation at the Town Hall.

That Saturday, at 17:00 hours, the mus tournament will begin, also organised by the petanque association, which will continue on Sunday 6 at the Old Town Hall. On Monday 7, the photography and crafts exhibition will open in the Town Hall's plenary hall, from 10:00 to 14:00 hours, and will remain until Thursday 10.

The programme also includes workshops such as “Personalised Pins” on Monday, “Pot Decoration” on Tuesday, and “Personalised Keyrings” on Wednesday, all at 19:00 hours in the square. On Wednesday, there will also be a Rummi championship at 21:00 hours.

Thursday 10 September marks the start of the central part of the festivities with the opening speech by the group “From Lost... to Redueña” at 20:00 hours. At 21:00 hours, there will be a dinner for groups with tickets at 2 euros available at the Town Hall, and at 22:30 hours, “La mitad de feos” will perform with music from the 80s and 90s.

On Friday 11, the Rural Olympics for Groups will take place in the bullring at 19:00 hours, with a ham as a prize for the winning group. At 22:00 hours, the costume contest will be held. Religious events and street parties will complete the programme until 14 September.
