The municipal pool of San Fernando de Henares will host a new edition of 'Patas al Agua' on September 7, with free access for dogs to enjoy the water.
On Monday, September 7, the summer pool of San Fernando de Henares will open its doors to dogs for a new edition of 'Patas al Agua', the open day organised by the City Council through the Sports and Health and Consumer areas. The event will take place from 16:30 to 20:00 and entry is free.
The mayor, Javier Corpa, explained that with this initiative, "we bid farewell to the season" and highlighted the "excellent reception" it has among residents, as it is repeated every year to "enjoy a day in the company of animals."
From the Government team, we have worked diligently to offer completely renovated facilities after the tough times we experienced with the floods in March 2025," said the mayor.
The complex reopened in June after repair works, and according to the City Council, around 35,000 bathers have visited it during the summer. The renovation includes a new area of umbrellas, improvements to the drainage and water distribution system, complete replacement of the flooring and footbaths, a book lending service, and a perimeter security wall.
To participate in 'Patas al Agua', owners must bring the dog's vaccination booklet, with the identification chip, up-to-date vaccinations, and the animal dewormed. It is also mandatory to clean up after the dog and follow the staff's instructions. The complete regulations are available on the municipal website.
The summer season does not end here: the reopening of the Justo Gómez Salto Sports Centre is scheduled for September 26, with exhibitions from clubs and entertainment. The rehabilitation has been financed by the local administration and the central government, with no contribution from the Community of Madrid. On September 27, at 10:00, the Bicycle Festival will be held.
