From August 26 to 30, Horcajuelo de la Sierra celebrates its summer festivals with zumba, petanque, barbecue, tortilla contest, and dances.
Horcajuelo de la Sierra is preparing to enjoy five days of festivities. From Wednesday, August 26 to Sunday, August 30, 2026, the municipality in the Sierra Norte of Madrid will host its traditional summer programme, organised by the Town Hall and the Festivities Committee, with activities for all audiences.
The programme kicks off on Wednesday August 26 at 20:00 with a Zumba Master Class in the square, designed to warm up before the big days.
Thursday August 27 will combine sports and gastronomy. At 19:00, a petanque tournament will take place on the grass field. At 21:00, the grand barbecue will begin, priced at 10 euros per person for those over 8 years old. Registrations for the barbecue must be formalised at the Town Hall or through the Festivities Committee before Wednesday the 26th. The night will be enlivened by DJ Garche, who will perform from 23:00 to 03:00.
Friday August 28 will be the main day with the opening speech. In the morning and afternoon, from 12:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00, there will be bouncy castles and foam party in the square. At 13:30, the 9th Tortilla and Empanada Contest will take place, a well-established event. From 18:30, the band “La Asamblea de Majaras” will liven up the atmosphere with a ham cutting demonstration. At 19:30, the refreshing Beer Regatta will take place, with a prize sponsored by Recuenco Restaurant.
At 22:00, the opening speech will be delivered by the Festivities Committee, followed by a popular sardine barbecue and sangria for all attendees. The party will continue until dawn with a session by DJ Marko DV, from 00:00 to 05:00.
Saturday August 29 will be dedicated to tradition and the big night, with activities to be detailed soon. Sunday August 30 will conclude the festivities, aiming to bring together locals and visitors in a festive and family-friendly atmosphere.
