The Ambite Town Hall will allocate 99,000 euros to the second phase of the Beautification Plan, with works on five streets including a new staircase, an islet, and accessibility improvements.
The Ambite Town Hall has given the green light to the II Phase of the Beautification Plan, a project that will involve an investment of 99,000 euros and will transform the surroundings of the streets Ángel, Miralrío, Molino, Abajo, and Estación. The works, expected to be carried out at the end of this year or the beginning of next, aim to renew deteriorated areas and improve the municipality's image.
The most visible action will be the renovation of the islet located between the streets Abajo and Estación, which will become a resting area for residents and visitors. The ground will be levelled, the surroundings of the existing olive trees will be conditioned, the pavement will be renewed, and benches, planters, and a protective railing will be installed.
Another key point is the renovation of the staircase on Ángel street, which is currently very deteriorated. A new, more comfortable staircase will be built, with resting areas and new railings that did not previously exist. Additionally, metal arches for the rose bushes will be placed, an aesthetic that will be repeated on Molino street to provide visual continuity to the area.
On Molino street, in the section between Miralrío and Abajo, a new non-slip stone staircase with a side railing will be created, due to the steep gradient of the road. The total scope of the works covers approximately 256 square meters, including the staircases, the islet, and the junction of Miralrío with Estación, where the pavement will be improved, water drainage will be optimized, and a small resting area will be established.
The mayor of Ambite, Apolonio Alcaide, has highlighted that this project is the result of a structured plan: “After the comprehensive renovation of the first part of Estación street, the conversion of the Era Nueva square into a children's park, now it is time to beautify the area, and later, once the Canal executes the renewal of the supply network here, the entire street up to the road will be asphalted.”
It is the result of securing grant after grant, something that is within reach of very few town halls of this size,” the mayor emphasized.
The project is close to being put out to tender, and the works will directly benefit the residents of these streets, who will see improvements in their accessibility and safety. The works are expected to be completed by the end of the year or early 2027.
