The Colmenar Viejo Department for Seniors is launching a special free bus service on Friday, August 28, so that seniors can reach the Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Los Remedios without suffering from the heat.
On Friday, August 28, seniors from Colmenar Viejo will be able to travel for free to the Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Los Remedios thanks to a special bus service set up by the Department for Seniors. The bus will run a circular route between 16:00 and 19:30, with departures every half hour from the ‘El Vivero’ Social Centre.
The route will connect the ‘El Vivero’ Social Centre with the parking area of the Ermita and return to the starting point. Departures from El Vivero are scheduled for 16:00, 16:30, 17:00, 17:30, 18:00, and 18:30. The last departure from the Ermita will take place just before the procession.
We are once again offering this free service so that seniors who walk to the Ermita can travel more comfortably and without suffering from the heat. The bus will run a circular route between 16:00 and 19:30 from the ‘El Vivero’ Social Centre to the Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Los Remedios (and back), with a frequency of half an hour,” said Enrique Navarro Hermosilla, the councillor for Seniors.
The initiative aims to prevent seniors from walking the route, especially during the peak of the summer heatwave. The service is exclusive to seniors and will be free of charge for users.
Those wishing to use the bus should go to the ‘El Vivero’ Social Centre during the indicated times. No prior requirements or reservations have been announced, so access will be on a first-come, first-served basis until the vehicle's capacity is reached.
