Galapagar City Council enhances mobility during the Patron Festivities with a free night bus and a new park-and-ride near the M-505.

The City Council of Galapagar has launched a special transport and parking plan for the Patron Festivities in honour of the Most Holy Christ of the Mercedes, which includes a free night owl bus service and a new park-and-ride.

The aim is to facilitate residents' movements, promote public transport during the busiest nights, and avoid traffic in the urban area, where several main roads will be closed due to the venues and festive events.

The night owl service will be completely free and will connect the urban area with the residential developments. It will operate on the nights of Friday 11 and Saturday 12 September, with departures at 02:00 and 04:00 from the stop in front of the entrance to the Jacinto Benavente Public School.

The route will cover the journey to the El Guijo residential area, continue through Colonia España with the same stops as line 632, and then proceed through La Navata and Parquelagos with the stops of the regular line 635.

As this is an exceptional service, for safety reasons, the bus will make only one initial pick-up stop in front of the Jacinto Benavente school; the rest of the stops will be drop-off only.

As a new feature, the City Council will provide a free park-and-ride at the end of Guadarrama Street, next to the roundabout on the M-505 road. This area will allow parking in an easily accessible location and walking to the pedestrian areas and the fairground, avoiding traffic congestion in the centre.
