The new lighting of the Church of San Pedro Apóstol is now shining in Los Santos de la Humosa. The Town Hall has completed the renovation works of the ornamental lighting of the temple, one of the main heritage landmarks of the municipality, with the aim of enhancing its silhouette during the night hours.
The work involved replacing the previous luminaires with a low-energy LED technology system. With this change, the council aims to reduce energy consumption while simultaneously improving the quality of the lighting, which now highlights the architectural details of the façade, built between the 16th and 17th centuries, with greater precision.
The project is part of a municipal initiative aimed at the conservation and promotion of local heritage. The Church of San Pedro Apóstol is one of the most unique buildings in Los Santos de la Humosa, alongside the hermitage of the Virgen de la Soledad and the bridge over the river Henares, and its new night-time image aims to attract both locals and visitors.
According to municipal sources, the new lighting is already operational and can be seen every night. The Town Hall has not disclosed the exact cost of the intervention but has confirmed that the work has been carried out with its own funds. The lighting renovation adds to other recent improvements in the municipality, such as the upgrading of the municipal swimming pool and the enhancement of access to the urban area.
With this initiative, the Council hopes to contribute to a more cared-for and attractive urban environment for both residents and visitors, especially during the hours of lower light.
