Majadahonda City Council has approved a new call for aid for podiatry treatments for elderly people, with amounts increasing to 60 euros per year for consultations and 120 euros for home visits. The application period starts this Thursday, 10 September.
The Majadahonda City Council has approved the call for aid so that registered elderly residents in the municipality can subsidise their podiatry treatments, both in consultation and at home. The Department of Social Welfare, Family and Seniors will allocate 15,000 euros to this fund.
The main novelty is the increase in amounts compared to the previous call. For treatments in consultation, the aid increases from 6 to 10 euros per session, with a maximum of six sessions per year, raising the annual total from 36 to 60 euros. In the case of home care, reserved for individuals who must remain in bed for health reasons or highly dependent individuals with a medical report, the subsidy rises from 12 to 20 euros per session, up to a maximum of 120 euros per year, compared to the previous 72 euros.
Eligible applicants are residents registered in Majadahonda who are over 65 years old, as well as pensioners over 60 years old who do not engage in paid work. Their spouses can also apply, provided they are over 60 years old and not working. Additionally, they must be up to date with payments to the municipal administration and have legal residency in Spain.
Subsidised treatments are those not included in the National Health System and must have been received between 1 October 2025 and 30 September 2026. To justify them, beneficiaries will need to present invoices issued by podiatry professionals, indicating the number of sessions and whether the care was provided in consultation or at home.
The application period begins this Thursday, 10 September and ends on 1 October. Applications, along with the required documentation, can be submitted in person at the City Council Registry or electronically, following the publication of the call in the Official Bulletin of the Community of Madrid (BOCM).
These aids are compatible with other subsidies from the State, the Community of Madrid, or other administrations, except for those granted for the same purpose. All information is available on the municipal website.
