The City Council of Majadahonda is hosting a talk-discussion on premenopause on Friday, October 23. The event is free and will take place at the Francisco Umbral Municipal Library.

The City Council of Majadahonda is organising the talk-discussion “Premenopause. Learning about oneself”, from 19:00 to 20:30, in the Multipurpose Room of the Francisco Umbral Municipal Library.

The event is aimed at women aged between 45 and 55 years, although it is open to anyone interested in the topic. It will be led by specialists from the Valle de la Oliva Health Centre and is free, with open access until capacity is reached.

The meeting will address the initial phase of premenopause from biological, psychological, and social perspectives, providing tools to cope with this stage of hormonal change.

According to the National Institute of Statistics (INE) and the Spanish Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (SEGO), there are between 8 and 10 million women in Spain in the climacteric or menopausal stage, from perimenopause to postmenopause.

The hormonal deficit during this stage can cause intense hot flashes and sleep and mood disorders, as well as increase cardiovascular, metabolic, and bone risks.
