The Majadahonda Town Council is offering six free sessions in August for seniors over 60 to learn how to organise photos, use email and process digital certificates.

The Digital Support Service at the Reina Sofía Senior Centre in Majadahonda has scheduled three free workshops over the next two weeks on everyday mobile phone uses, aimed at local residents over 60 who are not currently in employment.

The sessions, lasting one hour, will be held in the Ciberaula of the centre between 11:00 and 12:00, with each topic repeated over two consecutive weeks to facilitate attendance.

The first of these, “How to create and organise photo folders on your mobile”, will take place on Tuesdays 11 and 18 August. On Wednesdays 12 and 19 August, the focus will be on managing email on mobile devices, and on Thursdays 13 and 20 August, the explanation will cover what a digital certificate is and how to request it in Majadahonda.

No prior registration is required: interested individuals simply need to attend on the day and time of the talk they prefer. Access is free until the capacity of the Ciberaula is reached.

Additionally, the Digital Support Space remains open during July and August from Monday to Thursday, from 10:00 to 13:00, to address specific queries on an individual basis.

These activities are part of the municipal offer to reduce the digital divide among seniors in the locality, a group that often faces difficulties in carrying out everyday procedures online.

The workshops are specifically aimed at residents over 60 registered in Majadahonda who are not currently working, as specified by the Town Council.
