The Móstoles City Council is organising the III Week of Older People from September 28 to October 2, featuring workshops, a cultural outing to Pedraza, and an institutional event at the Teatro Villa de Móstoles.
The Móstoles City Council, through the Department of Contracting, Older People and Social Welfare, has scheduled the III Week of Older People, which will take place from September 28 to October 2 with activities aimed at the city's older residents. The programme will address unwanted loneliness, emotional well-being, and active ageing, and will include a tribute to the centenarians of the municipality.
The first event will be on Monday, September 28, at 9:30 AM, with a session on unwanted loneliness in the Conference Room on the fourth floor of the Cultural Centre Villa de Móstoles. The aim is to encourage the exchange of experiences and strengthen social ties.
On Tuesday, September 29, at 10:00 AM, the multipurpose room of the same centre will host the “Activa-mente” event, an intergenerational leisure meeting where older and younger people will share experiences through interactive digital games.
The central event will take place on Wednesday, September 30, at 6:30 PM, at the Teatro Villa de Móstoles, in celebration of the International Day of Older Persons. During this event, the awards for the II Contest “My Best Recipe” will be presented, and a tribute will be paid to the centenarian residents of the municipality. The day will conclude with a musical performance by the Banda La Estrella. Admission will be free until capacity is reached.
On Thursday, October 1, at 10:00 AM, the Cultural Centre Villa de Móstoles will host the workshop “Creative Memory in Motion”, aimed at improving emotional well-being and exercising memory based on the autobiographical experiences of the participants. On the same day, a cultural outing to Pedraza has been organised; registrations can be formalised from September 24 at the Bayern Travel Agency, located at Calle Navia, 1, ground floor, local 3.
The week will conclude on Friday, October 2, at 10:00 AM, with the 65yMás Day at the Norte-Universidad Cultural Centre, featuring former basketball player Fernando Romay. Admission will be available until capacity is reached.
Tickets for the activities that require them can be collected at the municipal senior centres, the Teatro del Bosque, and the Cultural Centre Villa de Móstoles.
