Line 723 will extend its service on the nights of August 28 and 29 to facilitate the return of residents of Tres Cantos to the festivities in Colmenar Viejo.
The intercity line 723, which connects Tres Cantos with Colmenar Viejo, will have special night reinforcements during the Patron Saint Festivities of the latter locality, which take place from August 28 to September 1. This measure, requested by the Mobility Department of the Tres Cantos City Council from the Regional Transport Consortium of Madrid (CRTM), aims to provide an alternative to private cars, especially for young people.
The first novelty arrives on the nights of Friday 28 and Saturday 29 August, with an additional service at 00:00 hours from Tres Cantos to Colmenar Viejo. Until now, the last departure of the line was at 23:00 hours, so the new service extends the usual schedule.
The reinforcement continues in the early hours of Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August, with two return services from Colmenar Viejo to Tres Cantos at 5:00 and 6:00 hours. Both departures will be from the stop at Corredera de las Colmenas and, once in Tres Cantos, will follow the usual route of line 723.
The Mobility Councillor, María del Mar Sánchez, explained that the request to the CRTM arose so that residents could attend concerts and night activities in Colmenar Viejo and return by public transport.
With this measure, we want to offer residents, especially young people, an alternative to private vehicles so they can attend the Patron Saint Festivities of Colmenar Viejo and return to Tres Cantos by public transport. In this way, we contribute to increasing road safety and avoiding risky situations during night travel.
The councillor added that the City Council deemed it necessary to strengthen the connection between both municipalities during these days and that the CRTM has responded to the request.
During the festivities, line 723 will maintain its usual route in Tres Cantos, but will not be able to carry out its regular itinerary in Colmenar Viejo due to planned traffic cuts on several streets. As an alternative, users can also use the Commuter Train line between both municipalities, with trains running until approximately 23:35 hours and from 5:50 hours, according to the CRTM.
