The Local Security Board of Valdemorillo has given the green light to the device for the Natividad de la Virgen festivities, which will be held from September 4 to 6. The plan, developed by the Local Police, sizes the forces according to the expected turnout.
The municipality of Valdemorillo has already finalised the security operation for its patronal festivities in September, which will kick off next Friday September 4 and will last until Sunday 6. The Local Security Board approved this August 27 the Security and Emergency Plan developed by the Local Police Headquarters, which identifies the locations where the events will take place and estimates the expected audience to adjust resources accordingly.
The Plaza de la Constitución will once again be the nerve centre of a programme that, once again, will have the street as its main stage. The plan, which also outlines the specific locations for the celebrations, aims to ensure the smooth running of the scheduled events.
Our priority is for everyone to enjoy the great atmosphere typical of these festivities, ensuring that they proceed without incidents,” explained the mayor, Santiago Villena, who thanked “in advance the neighbours and groups for their invaluable collaboration.
In the same meeting, the Guardia Civil presented crime data for the municipality covering the period from January to July 2026. Property crimes, mainly burglaries in homes, have decreased by 4.8% compared to the same period last year.
The mayor has linked this decrease to the special plan against burglaries in homes and emphasised that the crime rate in Valdemorillo is 13 percentage points below the average for the Community of Madrid. Additionally, arrests have increased by 64% and solved crimes by 34%.
This is an example of how the special plan to combat burglaries in homes is working well in our town,” highlighted Villena, attributing the results to “the coordinated work of the Local Police, Guardia Civil, Civil Protection and municipal services, as well as the collaboration of our neighbours.
The mayor has assured that the municipality will continue “working to ensure that Valdemorillo remains a safe, peaceful and prepared municipality, reinforcing prevention and response to any situation.”
The Local Security Board was attended by representatives from the Community of Madrid and the Government Delegation, as well as members of the Guardia Civil, Local Police, Civil Protection and councillors from the areas of Security, Youth and Festivities.
