The Town Council of Valdemorillo opens on September 15 the registration period for free activities for seniors over 65, starting on October 1 with psychomotricity as a new offering.
Residents of Valdemorillo aged over 65 can register starting from September 15 for the activities aimed at seniors that the Town Council is launching under the slogan ‘Actívate’. The process takes place from 10 AM to 2 PM on the ground floor of the María Giralt Building.
The programme, organised by the Department of Community Services, kicks off on October 1 at the Senior Centre located at La Unión, 15, featuring all free proposals. The main new addition this year is psychomotricity, which will be held on Wednesdays from 11 AM to 1 PM.
The head of the department, Ana Patricia González, explains the aim of this new session:
Another ‘subject’ to bring well-being to these residents, so that these workshops spark great interest and participation, working on aspects such as agility and skill, as well as the desire to keep learning.
The memory workshop, one of the most requested, will now be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 PM to 6:30 PM at Level I, and at the same time on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Level II.
The offer is completed with French classes on Fridays from 10 AM to 11 AM; a bobbin lace workshop on Fridays from 11 AM to 1 PM; hiking on Tuesdays and Thursdays departing at 10 AM and returning at noon; and bingo on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 PM to 6:30 PM. Throughout the course, cultural visits and workshops on healthy habits will also be scheduled.
The Town Council has published a leaflet with the rules for attendance and class development, available on the municipal website, and WhatsApp groups will be created to receive information about each activity.
