Velilla de San Antonio confirms that the cyberattack exposed personal data

The Velilla de San Antonio Town Hall confirms that the group responsible for the cyberattack has published the stolen information. Municipal services are operating normally.

The Velilla de San Antonio Town Hall has confirmed that the group responsible for the cyberattack suffered on August 21 has published the exfiltrated information. Municipal technicians are now analysing the documents to determine how many people may be affected.

According to the latest update from the council, the compromised information was located in shared work documentation spaces used by some municipal departments. There is no direct impact on corporate applications or ordinary management databases.

The published information may include identifying data, economic or banking information, and copies of identity documents. The Town Hall had already reported the events to the Guardia Civil and has updated the information provided to the authorities.

Since the incident was detected, containment measures have been adopted: closure of compromised accesses, deactivation of credentials, password changes, and review of users and permissions. The council assures that there is no record of new unauthorized accesses since then.

The breach has also been reported to the Spanish Agency for Data Protection and the National Cryptologic Centre. The investigation remains open, and the Town Hall will inform when there are relevant developments.

While the analysis is completed, the council recommends that residents exercise extreme caution against possible fraudulent communications requesting passwords, banking data, or personal information. Remember that they will never ask for this information via SMS, phone, or email.

If you detect possible misuse of your identity, you can file a complaint with the National Police or the Guardia Civil and indicate that it may be related to the cyberattack.
