The municipality opens to the public a new landscaped area on Calle Real, next to Plaza de España. The project had a budget of €56,000.

The mayor of Villanueva de la Cañada, Luis Partida, has visited the new landscaped area on Calle Real, next to Plaza de España, which is now open to the public.

The area covers 480 square meters and its renovation involved an investment of €56,000. The works have improved accessibility and naturalised the environment with the planting of shrub species and a drip irrigation system.

The pavements have been replaced with permeable materials that enhance water absorption, through sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS). Additionally, new benches and litter bins have been installed.

This project responds to our goal of continuing to improve public spaces and making them more pleasant, accessible, and sustainable. We have transformed this spot on Calle Real into an area designed for the gathering and enjoyment of residents, incorporating more vegetation, new furniture, and solutions that promote a more efficient use of water,” the mayor stated.

Luis Partida conducted the visit accompanied by councillors from the Municipal Corporation.
