Nearly 200 runners participated on Saturday in the 7th Churrigueresque Trail Race in Nuevo Baztán, which was held at night for the first time.

The 7th Churrigueresque Trail Race in Nuevo Baztán took place last Saturday for the first time in a night schedule, a novelty introduced by the Department of Sports of the Town Hall. The event brought together nearly 200 participants.

The main event, the 10-kilometre Trail, featured 174 runners, while the Hiking category had 23 registrants. The course, with an elevation gain of 158 metres, combined physical challenge with the municipality's surroundings.

In the overall men's classification, the winner was Raúl Pasamar from Triatlón Villalbilla, with a time of 37:24. In the women's category, the victory went to Verónica Rodríguez from Club Deportivo Alcer, who stopped the clock at 46:09.

The event was organised by Cronosport, with a security team comprised of the Local Police of Nuevo Baztán, the Volunteer Civil Protection Group, and the Municipal Ambulance SUREM. The only incident was a participant who suffered a wrist injury and had to be treated and transported.

During the day, the Mayor of Nuevo Baztán, Gemma Pacheco; the Sports Councillor, Jesús Rubio, and the First Deputy Mayor, María de las Mercedes Picón were present. Both the mayor and the councillor thanked the athletes for their participation and expressed their satisfaction with the evolution of a race that has become established in the region's sports calendar.
