The Sports Councillor of Velilla de San Antonio, Silvia Castillo, and the president of the D.E. Karate Velilla Club, Juan Antonio Jiménez, held a meeting to review the 2025/2026 season and lay the groundwork for the next sports season 2026/2027.
During the meeting, sports planning and the main challenges of the entity were discussed, which currently presents several students from the municipal school at championships and competitions. According to municipal sources, this participation aims to promote the personal and sporting growth of young people.
The club also offers a monthly training programme for all its members and collaborates in municipal activities such as the self-defence course for women, which is held every March. This collaboration, according to the City Council, reflects the good relationship between both entities.
One of the agreements reached was the signing of the document that will regulate the use of municipal sports facilities. This measure, according to the City Council, aims to ensure the proper use of these spaces and strengthen coordination between the City Council and local clubs.
Additionally, the councillor presented upcoming actions regarding child and adolescent protection in sports, which will be promoted starting in September. The initiative is aimed at clubs, coaches, athletes, and families, and seeks to raise awareness and provide tools to create safer and more respectful sports environments.
The City Council thanked the D.E. Karate Velilla Club for its commitment and dedication, highlighting that its work contributes to the growth of sports and the promotion of its values in the municipality.
