On August 21, Mataelpino hosts the XVI Family Race 'Rain of Colours', a free and non-competitive event as part of the San Bartolomé festivities.

The district of Mataelpino, belonging to the municipality of El Boalo, will be the setting on Friday, August 21 for the XVI Family Race 'Rain of Colours', a fun event that is part of the Patron Saint Festivities of San Bartolomé.

The non-competitive event will start at 12:00 PM in the Plaza de Mataelpino and is designed for group enjoyment: the aim is to start and cross the finish line together, with family or friends, while the colour powders fill the atmosphere with festivity.

Registration is completely free and will take place on the same day in the village square from 11:00 AM. All participants will receive colour powders and there will be refreshments at the end of the route.

As an extra incentive, a ham will be awarded to the largest family that participates together. The organisers recommend wearing old clothes that won’t be a problem to stain and, to protect the eyes from the powder rain, suggest wearing swimming goggles.

The race has become one of the most fun events of the summer in the Madrid mountains, combining sport, community, and colour in a festive environment.

Those interested can go directly to the Plaza de Mataelpino on the day of the event from 11:00 AM to formalise their registration and collect the colour powders.
