The Teatro Real Carlos III in Aranjuez kicks off its new season on September 26 with 'Esencia', starring Juan Echanove and Joaquín Climent. The programme includes theatre, music, dance, and film starting in November.

The Teatro Real Carlos III in Aranjuez begins a new season that will combine theatre, music, dance, and, from November, film. The programme, a result of the agreement between the City Council of Aranjuez and the Community of Madrid, will start on September 26 at 19:00 with Esencia, a play by Ignacio García May starring Juan Echanove and Joaquín Climent.

On October 3, it will be the turn of Carmen, nada de nadie, featuring Beatriz Argüello, a production about the life of Carmen Díez de Rivera. On October 10, Ron Lalá will present La Desconquista, a burlesque musical comedy about the conquest of the New World.

Music and dance will play a significant role. On October 17, the Special Gala Suma Flamenca Joven will take place, featuring young guitarists, singers, and dancers. The Festival of Ancient Music will include In Dulci Jubilo on October 18, performed by Fahmi Alghai & Academia del Piacere, with choral works and counterpoints by Johann Sebastian Bach and the collaboration of the Children's Choir of the Municipal Music School.

On October 24, Mariví Blasco (soprano) and Speculum, conducted by Ernesto Schmied, will perform Azul de Prusia, the travels of Charles Burney, coinciding with the 300th anniversary of the birth of the British musician and writer. The cycle will continue on October 31 with Hippocampus, conducted by Richard Egarr, featuring works by Arcangelo Corelli and Georg Friedrich Händel, and on November 1 with La Ritirata, conducted by Josetxu Obregón, dedicated to Juan Crisóstomo de Arriaga and Luigi Boccherini.

On October 29 and 30, the company of the Cultural Association Telón Aparte will stage Beetlejuice, which received four awards at the PremiOFF 2026, including Best Amateur Musical. The two performances will benefit the Juanjo Torrejón Foundation.

The theatre is considering setting up rehearsal rooms for theatre companies and musical groups, so that local artists and students can develop their projects in suitable facilities. Additionally, it will incorporate film screenings starting in November; the film programme will be announced soon.

Tickets are already available online at www.teatrorealaranjuez.es and at the box office from Thursday, September 17.
