The European Network of Family Friendly Municipalities has cited the Young Bands Festival of Galapagar as an example of its support for teenagers, providing them with spaces to develop their creativity and participate in the cultural life of the municipality. The recognition follows the Galapagar City Council's presentation in Brussels of its municipal strategy 'Growing Together', which incorporated it into this European network of cities committed to family policies.
The network emphasizes that the festival embodies this philosophy by making municipal spaces, resources, and opportunities available to young people to develop their musical projects, while also promoting a healthy leisure alternative. One of the pillars of the initiative is the Municipal Rehearsal Space, a well-equipped area where local bands can rehearse, create, and collaborate.
The City Council also turns these projects into a platform for young people to showcase their talent to the public. The most outstanding groups from the festival have the opportunity to perform on larger stages within the municipal programming. This was the case this weekend at the 40 Urban Sierra Festival, where some of the award-winning groups from the Young Bands Festival performed, continuing their journey.
