The municipality will host the observation of the solar eclipse on August 12 with the distribution of certified glasses, cultural activities, and adapted transport for people with reduced mobility.

Next Wednesday, August 12, Garganta de los Montes will become one of the observation points for the historic solar eclipse. The Town Hall has organised a special arrangement that includes the distribution of certified glasses to safely view the phenomenon.

The main event will take place at the 'Gargantales' telecommunications antenna platform, an elevated space that offers a privileged view of the sky. To centralise public attention, the Corral de Concejo will be set up as the official information centre, where questions about access, schedules, and activities will be addressed.

The organisation has prioritised social inclusion with a free transport service for people with reduced mobility, ensuring that no one misses out on witnessing the natural spectacle. Additionally, a comprehensive organisational plan and a programme of cultural activities have been designed.

The day will combine observation with education and leisure. There will be an informative talk by experts to explain the details of the eclipse, followed by a live concert that will provide a musical backdrop for the moment of sunset and the astronomical alignment.

To ensure everything runs smoothly, the Town Hall will coordinate a special team of 14 people dedicated to resolving incidents and providing logistical support on the ground. Local authorities urge responsibility and civility from all attendees, especially due to the natural value of the environment, and remind everyone of the importance of caring for the environment and following the instructions of security personnel.

The event is sponsored by Pueblos con Vida of the Community of Madrid. Citizen collaboration is requested for the successful development of the event.
