The Pérez de la Riva Cultural Centre in Las Rozas will host the screening of 'Afternoons of Solitude', the documentary by Albert Serra about the bullfighter Andrés Roca Rey, on Saturday, October 3. The session will begin at 20:00, last for two hours, and is free for all audiences.
The film is part of Márgenes en Ruta – Cinema in Community, an itinerant programme promoted by the Márgenes Festival and the Community of Madrid that will bring independent and auteur cinema to five municipalities in the region. The aim is to broaden access to cinematic culture and decentralise exhibition activities.
'Afternoons of Solitude' won the Golden Shell at the San Sebastián Film Festival and the Goya Award for Best Documentary Film. It was also chosen by Cahiers du Cinéma as the best film of 2025.
The film portrays the intimacy, preparation, and rituals of the bullfighter and his team, with a staging that Serra constructs from direct observation. The screening is part of a selection of contemporary audiovisual proposals that will tour various points in the Community of Madrid.
Entry is free and no prior registration is required. The session will take place at the Pérez de la Riva Cultural Centre in Las Rozas on Saturday, October 3 at 20:00.
