The Intelligent Community Forum has granted Las Rozas Full Certification as a Smart Community after analysing its data and conducting an on-site audit of its programs and policies. The announcement was made in Málaga with the presence of the mayor, José de la Uz, and the Smart City councillor, Jaime Santamarta.
The Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) has awarded Las Rozas the Full Certification as a Smart Community, a recognition that comes after the entity analysed the municipality's data and conducted an on-site audit of its programs, policies, and achievements.
The announcement was made public at a joint event held in Málaga, which was attended by the co-founder of the ICF, Robert Bell; the mayor of Las Rozas, José de la Uz; the mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre; and the Smart City councillor of Las Rozas, Jaime Santamarta.
According to the ICF, the certification is based on the results of that evaluation and the municipality's strategy to improve the lives of residents and the local business fabric. The international body values factors such as technological innovation, sustainability, and economic development.
With this distinction, Las Rozas strengthens its international positioning in the field of smart cities, a line of work that the council links to attracting opportunities and improving services for residents.
It highlights its commitment to providing better opportunities in a more liveable city for residents and the business ecosystem,” states the communiqué released after the announcement.
The ICF's full certification adds to other international recognitions that the municipality has received in recent years for its digitalisation and sustainability projects. The City Council has not yet detailed whether this new badge entails additional commitments or specific renewal timelines.
