Móstoles celebrates the opening ceremony, fireworks, and the lead-up to the Grand Day

Móstoles celebrates on Friday, September 11, with a floral offering, the opening speech by Carlos Alberto Cruz, parades, fireworks, and orchestras.

The municipality experiences a day on Friday, September 11, filled with a floral offering, opening speech, parade of Giants and Bigheads, fireworks, and orchestras. The patron saint is celebrated on Saturday, September 12, a local holiday.

Móstoles celebrates on Friday September 11 one of the busiest days of its Patronal Festivals, in honour of Our Lady of the Saints and Saint Simon of Rojas, declared of Regional Tourist Interest. The programme, organised by the City Council through the Department of Mobility, Transport, Consumption, and Festivities, kicks off at 10:00 am with the opening of the Craft Market.

The liturgical events will focus the afternoon. At 5:30 pm, residents will make a floral offering at the Hermitage of Our Lady of the Saints, as a prelude to the patron saint's day, celebrated on Saturday September 12, a local holiday. At 9:30 pm, in the same temple, the Salve Cantada will be held.

The opening speech and the firecracker will take place at 8:30 pm in the Plaza de España, from the balcony of the City Hall. This year it will be delivered by the local resident Carlos Alberto Cruz, physical trainer for the Spanish National Football Team, who participated in the team that won the 2026 World Cup.

Afterwards, the traditional unveiling of the handkerchief painting will be conducted by the Federation of Peñas of Móstoles, next to the statue of the peñero, at the junction of Andrés Torrejón street and Juan de Ocaña.

The procession of authorities and peñas will gather at 10:30 pm in the Parque Finca Liana to begin the parade towards the fireworks, accompanied by the Charanga Los Estrellaos. The fireworks display will start at 11:00 pm from the esplanade of the Juan de Ocaña school, opposite the Andrés Torrejón sports centre, and will be conducted by Pirotecnia Igual.

At midnight, at 12:00 am, the Orquesta Panorama will perform on the stage in the tent area of Parque Finca Liana.

The day also includes the Parade of Giants and Bigheads, which will take place from 7:30 pm through the most central streets. The route will feature a blue soundless section located at Avenida del 2 de Mayo with the Cuatro Caminos roundabout, so that people with sensory diversity can enjoy the parade. At 10:30 pm, the Pradillo stage will host a dance for seniors with the Conexión orchestra.
