The Móstoles City Council has approved a plan for the improvement and modernisation of the Teatro del Bosque with an investment of €322,711. The initiative, driven by the Department of Education and Culture, will replace the system of six monitored rigging lines and 42 counterweighted manual rigging lines with double travel, the originals installed since the venue's inauguration in 2003.
The plan responds to "unforeseen technical issues" recorded last week, according to the city council. The monitored rigging lines are the mechanisms that lift and position the supports for lights, decorations, fabrics, and other scenic elements. The City Council will replace these systems to update the technical equipment and ensure the development of scenic activities.
The execution of the work will require adjustments to the programming of Escena planned for September and October. The performance by Carola Ortiz, scheduled for October 1, will take place that same day at the Teatro del Soto. "La Pantera," scheduled for October 2 and 3, will be presented at the Teatro Villa de Móstoles, which will also host "Inolvidable" on October 4.
Other proposals have been rescheduled for 2027. "The Rite of Spring," by Sergio Bernal, will take place on April 29, 2027, at the Teatro del Bosque and will be the closing show of the Giro Danza Festival. "From Scheherezade," by María Pagés, will be rescheduled for September 25, 2027, also at the Teatro del Bosque.
The Ágora Jazz Festival will take place throughout the 2027 season, along with "Al Toque," featuring Gerardo Núñez, Diego del Morao, Dani de Morón, and Joni Jiménez, and "Al cante," with Esperanza Fernández, La Fabi, Montse Cortés, and La Kaita.
