The Theatre in Ferias programme kicked off in Alcalá de Henares with 'La Pasión Infinita', starring Pepón Nieto. The play repeats this Saturday at 21:00 in the Teatro Salón Cervantes.
The Teatro Salón Cervantes in Alcalá de Henares hosted the premiere of La Pasión Infinita on Friday, a comedy written and directed by José Troncoso that opens the Theatre in Ferias programme. On stage, Pepón Nieto, Claudio Tolcachir, Ana Labordeta, and Avelino Piedad bring to life a tragicomedy about a talentless aspiring actor, José Antonio, whose obsession with fame triggers an adventure where reality and spectacle intertwine. The Councillor for Culture, Santiago Alonso, attended the performance.
The play, which will be repeated this Saturday 22nd August at 21:00, is part of a programme that will continue until the end of the Ferias. On Sunday 23rd August, the Alcalá Comedy Show will feature two performances at 19:00 and 21:30, with comedians Juan Zurdo, Edu Manzanera, Sara Drama, and Joseph Ewonde, in a show produced by Alcalá Me Mata.
The company Yllana will take over on 26th and 27th August with GOOL, a visual and gestural production about football directed by David Ottone and Fidel Fernández. The play satirises the passion of fans, economic interests, and the contradictions of the king of sports, always at 21:00.
On 28th August, Canada, a comedy by Alícia Serrat directed by Borja Rodríguez, will arrive, where the Prime Minister tries to record an urgent message while a meteorite threatens the planet. The performance turns the institutional speech into a series of absurd situations about power and survival.
The grand finale will be provided by Imanol Arias and María Barranco on 29th and 30th August with Mejor no decirlo, written by Salomé Lelouch and directed by Claudio Tolcachir. The play poses the question of what would happen if a couple decided to tell each other the whole truth after years of calculated silences, with humour and intelligence.
