The three choirs of the Municipal Music School of Rivas-Vaciamadrid are looking for new voices for the 2026-2027 academic year. The auditions will take place in September at the Federico García Lorca cultural centre.
The Municipal Music School (EMM) of Rivas-Vaciamadrid has opened the call for voice auditions to incorporate new singers into its three choirs for the 2026-2027 academic year. The auditions will be held in September at the Federico García Lorca cultural centre, with different requirements and dates for each group.
The polyphonic choir, directed by Catalina Rivada and entering its second season after debuting in October 2025, is looking for soprano, tenor, and bass voices. Contralto positions will be placed on a waiting list. The auditions will take place on Tuesday 15 and Thursday 17 September, from 17:00 to 20:00. To participate, you must send an email to cgrivada@rivasciudad.es with the subject 'Voice audition polyphonic choir', indicating your name, surname, and availability for one of the two days. Pitch and previous experience will be assessed. The call is open to those over 18 years old.
The children's-youth choir Impulso will hold its auditions on the same days and at the same time, also at the Federico García Lorca. It is also directed by Catalina Rivada and accepts voices aged 9 to 17 years. Applications should be sent to the same email with the subject 'Voice audition Impulso choir'. The choir works with choreography and visual elements, performing a cappella pieces and with piano accompaniment. Rehearsals will be held on Tuesdays from 17:15 to 18:30, and the course begins on 6 October.
The Ars Moderno choir, for adults, does not require prior application or experience: just show up on Tuesday 8 September at 17:30 in classroom 10 of the cultural centre. Its repertoire combines modern music (musicals, soundtracks, pop) with traditional choral works. The Department of Culture encourages anyone who has “just a desire to sing and be part of an exciting musical project” to participate.
