The works of the educational centres conservation plan in Alcalá de Henares are nearing completion. They include painting, roof repairs, bathroom renovations, and sports courts in a dozen schools.

The Councillor for Education of Alcalá de Henares, Lola López, has supervised this week the progress of the annual improvement, conservation, and maintenance plan for the city's public educational centres. The works, which affect a dozen schools, are close to completion and involve an investment of 700,000 euros.

Among the centres visited are CEIP Cardenal Cisneros, CEIP Francisco de Quevedo, and the special education school Pablo Picasso. In these schools, actions such as the renovation of the sports courts at Cardenal Cisneros, the complete refurbishment of the bathrooms in the two Infant pavilions of Francisco de Quevedo, and the renewal of the flooring in four classrooms and the gym at Pablo Picasso are being carried out.

The councillor highlighted that “this set of interventions responds to the municipal commitment to the maintenance and continuous improvement of the educational centres in Alcalá de Henares, ensuring safer, more accessible, and functional spaces for the development of educational activities and the well-being of students and the educational team.”

Additionally, the plan includes painting works in the schools Alicia de Larrocha, Antonio Machado, Daoíz and Velarde, García Lorca, and Francisco de Quevedo, as well as the continuation of roof repairs at CEIP Antonio de Nebrija and La Garena.

During the visit, the councillor was able to check the state of the works and the progress of the tasks, which are in their final phase. With this investment, the Alcalá de Henares City Council aims to improve the educational infrastructure of the city for the upcoming school year.
