The City Council of Aranjuez, the Rey Juan Carlos University, Indra Group and Salesianos Loyola have signed a protocol to promote educational, technological and innovation collaboration. The agreement will have an initial duration of four years, extendable for another four.
The City Council of Aranjuez, Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC), Indra Group and Salesianos Loyola school signed a General Protocol of Action this Wednesday that creates a framework for collaboration in teaching, research and knowledge transfer. The signing took place this morning in the municipality.
Attending the event were the mayor of Aranjuez, Miguel Gómez Herrero; the rector of the URJC, Abraham Duarte Muñoz; María del Carmen Moneva Montero and María Fernanda Silles Cristóbal, representing Indra Group; and Isidoro Gil Redondo, on behalf of Salesianos Loyola Aranjuez.
The protocol includes lines of work such as R&D projects, training and staff exchange, shared use of facilities and equipment, technological dissemination and innovation, as well as the organization and sponsorship of conferences and events.
The text also opens the door for students from the URJC and Salesianos Loyola to undertake internships at Indra Group, the development of degrees from Rey Juan Carlos University (micro-credentials, extension courses and master's degrees in continuing education) and specialization programs for students of Salesianos Loyola.
Furthermore, institutional participation in the European network EULiST, of which the URJC is a part, is contemplated to connect with European projects in education, innovation and knowledge transfer.
The agreement will allow, based on this general framework, the establishment of specific agreements to develop concrete projects and activities in Aranjuez, bringing university and business resources to the municipality and generating opportunities for students and the local educational fabric.
Among those possibilities are training and specialization activities, conferences, seminars and technological dissemination actions, as well as collaboration between the educational and business sectors to facilitate students' contact with the professional world.
The General Protocol of Action does not generate direct economic obligations or spending commitments for the City Council of Aranjuez, as it is a general framework for collaboration.
The agreement will have an initial duration of four years, extendable for another four by agreement of all parties. Any of the entities may terminate the protocol by notifying at least three months in advance.
