The National School of Aquatic Rescue (Enssap) and the Professional Institute of Security and Emergencies (IPSE) offer a course accredited by the Community of Madrid. Residents of Colmenarejo pay 180 euros, and the practical part is taught at the indoor pool in Galapagar.
The National School of Aquatic Rescue (Enssap) and the Professional Institute of Security and Emergencies (IPSE) have opened pre-registration for a new aquatic rescue course that will take place in October 2026. The training is accredited by the Community of Madrid and places are allocated by reservation through the link provided on the IPSE website.
The programme includes aquatic rescue and first aid, with phases on intervention, rescue of casualties, psychological and legal aspects, basic life support, and use of the DESA.
The schedule combines an online theoretical part and an in-person theoretical-practical part. The theoretical training is delivered on the virtual platform starting from Friday, 23 October, and the exams for that module are conducted until Thursday, 29 October 2026.
The in-person part is concentrated over three intensive days: Friday, 23 October from 16:00 to 21:00, Saturday, 24 October from 09:00 to 14:00, and Sunday, 25 October from 09:00 to 14:00. The practical sessions are held at the indoor pool Fernando Navarro, in Galapagar.
The price is 180 euros for residents of Colmenarejo, Galapagar, Collado Villalba, Valdemorillo, and Torrelodones, as well as for family members and partners of IPA Madrid and affiliates of SUP or IPSE. Other students pay 240 euros.
The minimum requirements are to be at least 16 years old or turn 16 before 31 December of the current year and to hold a Graduado en ESO certificate.
